Hello! I'm Liu Yuansheng, but please feel free to call me Alen, as my friends do. I'm currently an undergraduate fashion student at Raffles College, where I continue to nurture my lifelong passion for fashion, marketing, and styling. With five years of dedicated study as a fashion student under my belt, including four years of Fashion Marketing at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), my experience and love for the industry have grown immensely. However, my journey began long before that.

Ever since I was a child, I've been captivated by the world of fashion. I fondly remember watching videos of various fashion shows with my mom and friends, which ignited a deep passion and appreciation for the industry. One designer who has had a profound impact on me is the enigmatic Martin Margiela. His unconventional approach to fashion, combined with his innovative techniques and thought-provoking designs, has truly inspired me and shaped my understanding of the limitless possibilities within the world of fashion.

Over the years, my interest in fashion has only grown more robust and refined, beginning with my early education in middle school. I diligently studied painting and fashion history with the dream of becoming a fashion designer, fueled in part by the creative genius of Margiela. As I delved deeper into the realm of fashion and gained more knowledge about market culture, my aspirations evolved. I realized that the business aspect of the industry was where I could truly excel. That's why I chose to attend NAFA, where I could focus on fashion marketing and develop the skills needed to succeed in the business side of fashion. Today, my career goals include working as a fashion buyer and eventually opening my very own fashion store.
Having spent half of my life in different countries, I consider myself open-minded and receptive to various ideas and information. When I moved to Singapore from China at 12, I encountered significant language barriers and cultural differences. Everything was entirely new to me, and I had to adapt quickly while learning as much as possible from my new environment. Despite these challenges, I continue to visit China regularly, immersing myself in the diverse fashion cultures of both countries.
With that said, I warmly welcome you to The Space, where I'm thrilled to share my thoughts, stories, and experiences from the ever-evolving fashion world. My hope is that you'll not only gain insight into the industry but also find inspiration for your own fashion journey.
